What's New at Mie Tech , LLC?
Hello and welcome to the first ever MieTech, LLC newsletter! We're excited that you're here and hope you'll stick with us through our journey to our goal of making tech easier for all. When you signed up for our newsletter, we promised to only bug you when we had actual news for you and we definitely do: we've released our first ever public project: MIE-MCServer.
MIE-MCServer
MIE-MCServer is intended to be a "one-stop shop" for running a private/public Minecraft server on any Linux system. This project should almost completely replace the need for a third-party service for anyone comfortable using terminal. Interacting with this application should be both as simple and as concise as possible.
As of v1.1.2, the application is capable of:
- Hosting a Light-Weight Server. MIE-MCServer automatically uses Paper to run your Minecraft server, making it as light-weight as it could possibly be.
- Automatic Version Updates. Upon installation, unless a specific version is specified, MIE-MCServer will automatically install the latest version of Minecraft to use for your server. As new updates are released by the Minecraft and Paper developers, MIE-MCServer will either install it automatically or inform you that it is ready to install depending on your settings.
- Issuing Server Commands. As your server will run in a completely headless state (no user interface), issuing server commands such as give or op is near impossible, but can easily be done via MIE-MCServer.
- Automatic Server Maintenance. MIE-MCServer is installed with some baked in server maintenance scripts to help your server run smoothly for as long as possible. The best part about these maintenance scripts is that they are completely customizable to fit the needs of your server!
